Team Elizabeth had one of the most ambitious and possibly impactful projects. Through partnering with local senior centers Team Elizabeth worked in a senior fall education campaign, safety visits, and created community among their senior citizens.
The group met with approximately 650 seniors over the course of the summer, of those, 76 participated in workshops, and 53 in home visits. During home visits group members surveyed seniors to see what resources they could be connected to, offered some companionship, or even at times did some handy work. Further, the group also conducted surveys to understand resources seniors may be lack i.e. access to healthy foods, presence of insect or vermin, clean living conditions, access to medical care and medications, technology, etc.
Based off of these answers the group got seniors in contact with services they might need.
The group was able to meet with seniors who spoke both Spanish and English as many members were multilingual.
