What is the difference between Praxis I , Praxis Core, and Praxis II?

Posted at 10 a.m. Feb. 1, 2015,

Rutgers Camden accepts the Praxis Core test for entrance into our undergraduate Program.

Praxis Core is also comprised of 3 separate tests: Reading, Writing, and Math. The required scores are: Reading 156, Writing 162, and Math 150.

At this time, we also accept the Praxis I test. Praxis I, also known as PPST (Pre-Professional Skills Test), is comprised of 3 separate tests: Reading, Writing, and Math. The Teacher Preparation Program had required Praxis I for entrance into the TPP and the required scores are: Reading 177, Writing 177, and Math 175. PLEASE NOTE that ETS has stopped offering Praxis I as of September 1, 2014. If you have started the Praxis I series, but not yet completed it, then you will need to take all the Praxis Core tests for program entry.

Praxis II are subject area tests required by the State of New Jersey for certification.
